Julia and Tom had the most amazing wedding at Morden Hall this summer. Situated within 125 acres of National Trust parkland, you would not know you were in a busy London suburb. Morden Hall is an 18th-century grade two listed country house and you can hire it exclusively for your wedding day.
Julia and Tom met at law school and their relationship grew over the years. They got engaged on the day they got the keys to their London home and the rest is history. They both fell in love with Morden Hall because of the gardens and the Georgian architecture. This was my first time at this beautiful wedding venue and I fell in love with it too. The country house is a thing of beauty and the gardens are stunning. It was a joy to capture this beautiful wedding day and I hope you enjoy the images.
A country house wedding at Morden Hall
Julia got ready for her special day with her bridesmaids at Hotel du Vin in Wimbledon. It was a beautiful morning and a joy to be part of. Julia looked stunning in her sleek and elegant Suzanne Neville dress with floral lace detail. The girls then all headed off to the wedding ceremony at St Mary’s church in Wimbledon. A beautiful church, full of character and charm.
A summer wedding reception at Morden Hall
After the wedding ceremony, guests made their way to Morden Hall on a Routemaster bus. It was a beautifully warm day and the drinks reception was in the garden at Morden Hall. A saxophonist played whilst guests chilled in the sunshine, it was the perfect drinks reception. We went for a walk in the gardens and got some beautiful photos of the happy couple with the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
After the drinks reception, everybody headed to the willow room for the wedding breakfast. Kalm Kitchen served up a culinary feast and it was honestly some of the best wedding food I have had. The wedding speeches followed and they were brilliant. I have not laughed so much at speeches for a long time.
Golden hour portraits at Morden Hall
I stole Julia and Tom away for some late evening portraits in the gardens. There are so many locations for portraits at Morden Hall so I was spoilt for choice on backdrops. Julia and Tom fell in love with Morden Hall when they were walking back to the house from the bridge. This spot was really important to them so we made sure we got some portraits on this path for them. Morden Hall in the background. We grabbed some gorgeous golden-hour portraits too as we were blessed with some late evening sun. I love Golden Hour and if it is there I will not miss it.
Julia and Tom had their first dance and this started the evening party. These guys knew how to party and it was a fab dancefloor. The evening party is one of my favourite times to photograph so I always stick around.
Suzy did an amazing job as our wedding photographer. She captured our day perfectly and we absolutely love all of the photos. Throughout the process Suzy was very responsive and organised so we felt that we were in safe hands in the run-up to the wedding. On the day, Suzy captured all of the photos we had asked for and was very professional. After the wedding Suzy delivered our sneak peek photos very quickly which was really lovely. Overall we are delighted that we booked Suzy and we would highly recommend her
