This year has been a toughie for the wedding industry and for all the lovely couples who had planned their perfect wedding day, only to have everything thrown up in the air due to the dreaded COVID-19. As we move towards the more intimate wedding for a short time, it was a pleasure and honour to be back out and doing what I love once again
I first spoke to Dan and Louella a few weeks before their wedding. They were looking for a wedding photographer to capture their small and intimate wedding at St Mary’s Church in haddenham. For anyone who has never been to Haddenham before, it is a quintessentially English, Chocolate box village. St Mary’s church is in the middle of the village, overlooking a picturesque duck pond. It is a very beautiful sight to behold!
Dan arrived for the wedding in ample time to greet their wedding guests in the glorious sunshine that the day had blessed them with. Dan and Louella are huge harry potter fans and Louella arrived for the wedding ceremony in a light blue Ford Anglia, very much like the one flown in the second film, the chamber of secrets. She was wearing a stunning Justin Alexander dress and had the most beautiful wedding bouquet. She was a very beautiful bride!
The wedding ceremony was beautiful and watched over by 26 of their close friends and family. There was a heartfelt reading by a friend and also the most wonderful rendition of ‘A million dreams’ by one of Louella’s friends that nearly had the congregation in tears. Dan and Louella barely stopped smiling throughout and it was a lovely intimate wedding ceremony to be part of
After the wedding ceremony, everybody headed outside to greet the happy couple. There was then confetti throwing in front of the beautiful church. I do love confetti and love capturing it at weddings. I always tell the guests to really go for it when it comes to throwing. You can never have too much confetti at a wedding I believe!
Dan and Louella’s dog Luna (another Harry Potter reference) is their pride of joy and was waiting outside the church. We captured a few photos of the three of them together before we headed off for their portraits. We made the most of the beautiful church grounds and captured some lovely shots of the newlyweds before they headed off for their reception elsewhere
Dan and Louella were the most lovely couple and I had a blast photographing their wedding. I wish them both a lifetime of happiness together and I hope the rest of the wedding day was a blast!
I really hope you enjoyed my blog and love the images as much as Dan and Louella do. If you are looking for a wedding photographer for a small and intimate wedding or a full day, then I would love to have a chat about your special day. Please contact me here and let’s book in a call!
