Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places. Joanne and George met while working at Waitrose, and what started as a friendship quietly grew into something wonderful. Together they built a life full of love, laughter and, eventually, a beautiful daughter who played a very special role in their wedding day. It is the kind of story that reminds you that the best love stories often begin in the most ordinary of moments.
When it came to choosing a venue, Joanne and George fell for Caswell House immediately. Tucked away in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside, it offered everything they were looking for. Rustic charm, romantic gardens, honey-coloured stone buildings and a serene, peaceful atmosphere. Furthermore, it sits right in the heart of the Cotswolds, one of the most beautiful and sought-after wedding destinations in the UK. Getting Ready at Caswell House
The morning began with both Joanne and George getting ready on site. This always sets such a calm and relaxed tone for the day. Joanne looked absolutely stunning in her Caroline Castigliano wedding dress. The exquisite detailing on the sleeves brought a classic, timeless elegance to her bridal look. Her bridesmaids wore flowing sage green dresses that complemented the spring palette and natural tones of the venue perfectly.
Meanwhile, George and his groomsmen looked effortlessly sharp in black tie. The contrast of classic tuxedos against the rustic stone walls of Caswell House created a beautifully timeless look. It is one of my favourite combinations for a Cotswolds wedding.
A Heartfelt Ceremony at St Mary’s Church, Bampton
Joanne and George chose to exchange their vows at St Mary’s Church in Bampton, a charming and historic Oxfordshire church that added a wonderfully traditional touch to the day. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the wedding ceremony was full of love and emotion. St Mary’s is a beautiful setting for a church wedding in Oxfordshire, and it complemented the relaxed elegance of their Caswell House reception perfectly.
A Glorious Spring Reception in the Cotswolds
Despite a rainy forecast, the weather turned out beautifully. Afterwards, guests returned to Caswell House for the drinks reception. They spilled out into the courtyard gardens and soaked up the spring sunshine. Laughter echoed around the grounds. Glasses clinked. It was exactly what a spring wedding in the Cotswolds should feel like.
Inside the barn, guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast beneath the beautiful wooden beams. The speeches followed, and they were touching, funny and completely full of heart. It was clear how deeply loved Joanne and George are. The stories shared brought laughter and happy tears in equal measure.
Timeless Wedding Portraits in the Grounds of Caswell House
As the golden hour arrived, I took Joanne and George away for a quiet moment together. This is always one of my favourite parts of any wedding day. Just the two of them, away from the celebrations, and the most beautiful light you can imagine.
Every corner of Caswell House offered a stunning backdrop. The wisteria-draped walls, the stone arches, the little bridge, each one more beautiful than the last. The light was soft and golden, and their love for one another shone through in every single frame. Above all, these portraits capture exactly who they are as a couple, warm, connected and completely at ease with each other.

A Party to Remember
As the evening began, the celebrations shifted up a gear. A live band played classic hits and filled the barn with energy. Guests packed the dance floor immediately and kept it busy all night. Furthermore, Joanne and George’s first dance was one of the most beautiful moments of the whole day. Their little daughter joined them on the dance floor, and the three of them danced together under the lights. It was the most perfect, heartfelt moment, and one I will never forget.
