Emily’s 21st Birthday – Banbury Photographer
I had the recent pleasure of photographing Emily’s 21st birthday party at her family home in Banbury, Oxfordshire. They chose me as their Banbury photographer and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Their stunning home and garden in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside played host to the event and you couldn’t ask for a better location
The theme was travel and the dress code was black tie and there was a real mix of the two elements. Emily’s mum Joanna is a wedding and event planner so it was always going to be a well organised and beautifully decorated party, and it really didn’t disappoint. The marquee in the garden was decorated with the most beautiful flowers, all put together by her lovely sister Penny. The colours were absolutely stunning and really set the tables off. Penny is looking for a future career in flower arranging and I would say she certainly has one. The candle lanterns and all the little detail on the three tables looked beautiful, as did the hanging paper lanterns which matched the colour scheme perfectly
The Drinks Reception
When the guests arrived they were treated to a drinks reception in the beautiful garden. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful evening for a party. The canapes were divine, a mix of tempura prawns, beef and bearnaise sauce, honey and mustard sausages and wild mushroom arancini
The guests were then invited into the marquee for the main event. The seating plan was based around continents, with the guests all sitting in different parts of the world, in keeping with the travel theme. Emily’s father delivered a very touching and heartwarming speech to his beautiful daughter and one of her good friends read out a poem she had written about Emily. The guests were then all treated to a delicious buffet, provided by Greens catering. The main meal included Balinese chicken, Moroccan beef tagine (which was epic), minted cous cous, red pumpkin curry, plus a host of different salads. Pudding was served to the tables on slate and was a chocolate lovers idea of heaven! I was lucky enough to partake in the food also and all I can say is it was absolutely divine!
Let The Party Begin!
After dinner the birthday girl was called up to the front by her father for the obligatory ‘Happy birthday’ song and blowing out of candles and then the party started. The music was provided by mighty fine entertainment and he put on a really good show with a great mix of songs. As you can see from the images, everyone was up dancing and having a jolly good time
I had an absolute ball at this party, I really do love my job sometimes. Emily and her family and friends were so welcoming and such a lovely group of people to be around. The suppliers were all fantastic and brought the evening together with real class. Thanks for choosing me as your Banbury photographer and happy birthday!
